Back StrainFeeling The Strain

According to the UK’s Back Care Statistics, back pain is so common that according to a survey published in 2000 around 40% of adults report suffering with Lower Back Pain (lasting for at least 24-hrs) at some time each year.

It goes on to estimate that around 80% of adults will experience it at some point in their life, although in most cases it won’t linger the indications of cost on our overburdened health service, is costly to say the least.

Gently Gently Catchy Monkey

The report goes on to assert there is no clear pathology that identifies a cause, although they say there could be contributing factors such as:

  • Having had back pain before
  • Smoking or obesity
  • Physical factors such as heavy physical work, where frequent bending, twisting, lifting, pulling and pushing are involved
  • Repetitive work, static postures and vibration
  • Psychosocial factors such as stress, anxiety, depression, job (dis)satisfaction, mental stress

What Does META-Medicine Say

According to META-Medicine there are very specific causes to all pain and disease, so let’s look at what might be causing Lower Back Pain shall w?

The muscular-skeletal system comes under the jurisdiction of the Medulla brain relay, and is identified as being a self-worth issue. But what does this mean in terms of the lower back, well firstly we need to get more specific as there are a range of areas around the lower back, so let’s take a look at a couple of them.

Back StrainLower Back Pain

We’re going to draw from The Biogenealogy Sourcebook by Christian Fleche because it’s a mainstay in assisting with META-Medicine diagnosis and well worth a read if this sort of thing interests you.

First let’s look at the Coccyx because it’s at the base of the spine and helps with stabilization:

  • It helps us stand upright and distinguishes us from other animals
  • Symptoms in this area are related to self-worth at the base of the personality
  • This loss of self-worth can be related to a loss of self-worth in relation to expressing oneself sexually

So already we can see a picture emerging of how being in the wrong job or a failing relationship could be impacting a person’s health.

Another area to consider is that of the Intervertebral Disks which stem from conflicts that are less severe than those affecting the bone, where a person suffering this way:

  • May not feel up to the job
  • Or may not feel they can rely on themselves for inner strength
  • Disk problems can arise from a situation where someone is buffered between two people arguing

Could It Be More Simple

You may be beginning to notice how simple this stuff is, because there is a clear correlation between the affected area and the type of conflict that lies at the root, and this is what I’ve found so magical about the META-Medicine diagnosis.

Back StrainThe META-Healing Process

I’ve yet to come across a case where it doesn’t work, the challenge lies in being honest with yourself so you can open up to the process of listening to what the brain is desperately wanting to communicate by creating the pain in the first place. Once you recognize what’s going on, within, you can fully begin a proper recovery process and that may require some lifestyle or other changes in order to learn-from the lessons and heal they body.

What is clear is that an acute back pain will clear within 6-wks, but if you’re among the 7% of the population where it develops into a chronic condition, then you won’t find a better system for learning the information behind the pain, in order to become free of the discomfort.

Simple measures can be taken to reduce the chances of developing back pain and thereby reducing the impact of existing back pain.

But nearly 40% of back pain sufferers consult with a GP and 10% will visit an alternative practitioner for help. It’s now accepted practice to advise that remaining active is vital as resting up will make the pain worse.

Does Exercise Help

Physical exercise can be very effective in helping to overcome the stiffness and discomfort, from personal experience I’ve found gentle yoga very helpful as one of a number of recuperative methods in assisting full recovery. But for me the pain didn’t actually stop occurring until I uncovered what lay beneath and now I’m pain-free.

What Is The Process

In order to become free from a recurring chronic back pain the treatment will require the discovery of what underlies the origins for you and then a range of clearing methods. It shouldn’t take more than 3-sessions provided there are not other aspects to it, but if there are they get interwoven into the treatment. If you want to know more or have a chat, just fill out the contact form to arrange.

According to META-Medicine there are Two Phases Of Disease and this wonderful diagram (courtesy of Suzanne Boyd below illustrates them perfectly.

META-Medicine’s Two Phases Of Disease

UDIN Moment

The UDIN shows us how the whole disease process begins in the first place. It starts with a trauma small, medium or large as it hits the respective part of the brain (and organ) simultaneously.

Stress Phase

Then the STRESS or Sympathetic Phase begins, which has you reaching for high-energy quick-fix foods that are found in refined sugars and carbohydrates, sleep and eating patterns become erratic, blood pressure rises and the extremities become cold.

Reversal Point

Then something resolves the issue which can occur in the sleep, where you just waken up one day feeling okay about what happened (no conscious awareness). But if you’re awake when it reverses, it will be another event that turns everything round from what occurred at the UDIN stage where you feel okay, and the stress stops.

Repair Phase

Then the HEALING or Para-Sympathetic Phase begins, which is when the physical symptoms arrive and this phase splits into 3-parts:

  1. The hot, temperature ridden first part (runny nose with a cold for example)
  2. The Healing Crisis, when symptoms are at their peak (i.e. headache and other symptoms at their worst)
  3. The warm recuperative part when you want to keep warm and cosy, eat nourishing foods again, blood pressure lowers and the body wants lots of sleep

This is a simple explanation of how the whole process works and I’m sure you can relate to it. This model gives such an elegant system where the brain informs the body and vice-versa and helps demonstrate that disease is not a random mistake, as with all nature there is cause and effect.

However, you might be saying to yourself, well if it is such an orderly system, why do people have symptoms that go on for years and years, and that’s where the next part of the puzzle is solved.

It’s The Learning

Firstly, we’ve not been aware that disease is a process, so we’ve missed the part where we’re meant to understand that a disease has happened for a reason, i.e. protecting your system from the original trauma, where part of the system shut down through disease in order to protect you.

But if we get on board with the META-Medicine model we may relief symptoms quicker, although it can take time, dependent on how may times similar triggers, around a condition, have occurred.

So let’s dig deeper, the original cause of a disease has to be cleared, but if consciously learning about the origins isn’t enough to become free of the symptoms (and it is for some) then other tools and techniques are applied, such as the emotional clearing techniques mentioned on this site.

Once an original trauma is cleared then a person will be free of the symptomology, and that might be a challenge for some. However, it’s easier because talking over the past is not the emphasis here, instead the relevant experiences are found more efficiently through very specific questioning, to enable a trauma to leave the system.

As an alternative health practitioner this model has made the biggest difference in how I work to release past trauma, while understanding how it came about. And what’s lovely for clients is that I don’t even need to know the details, as the insights are for their benefit, not mine.

META-MedicineRichard Flook's 'Why Am I Sick'

I wrote this over a year ago when I had just started the online META-Medicine Training with Richard Flook and never got round to printing it, but thought I would today, because:

a. it’s helpful to see where I was at then, in regards to having very little knowledge about what META-Medicine had to offer
b. that may very well be where you are right now
c. realising what I’ve learned and the difference it’s made.

A. This is what I wrote back then:

Richard Flook (META Medicine Trainer And Board Member)

I’m currently training as a META Medicine Health Coach with Richard Flook. It is a fairly new paradigm in the field of health, medicine and well-being. If you look at an area like Reflexology we know it gathers information from the feet which are approximate to the body’s anatomy. Well so it is with META-Medicine (MM) but instead it’s the brain that has been mapped, based on Embryology.

Each physiological body system has a connecting part in the brain and this means that almost all mental, physical, emotional or psychological diseases / conditions / issues provide us with an efficient opportunity to understand how that disruption began.

B. Helping you understand it better:

The Common Cold

META-MedicineVulnerable Woman

This condition is associated with the nose and the nasal mucosa.

Having a cold is associated with having something very displeasing happen, or with giving someone the cold shoulder.

It may also be related to a sense of anxiety experienced as an intrusion.

The Brain’s Interpretation

The common cold is a mucous oedema (gathering of water or swelling) and relates to wanting to be separated from something, an odour, for example, in order to restore contact with the self. And the brain relay that is affected is the Ectoderm (outer layer) the Sensory Cortex.

C. How this information helps:

The Significance When Working With Clients

The beauty of applying META-Medicine at the beginning of the process of working with clients (and self come to that) is how specific it is and how this points out the right place to start working with someone, which completely cuts down session time, and helps someone identify exactly what’s been going on in their body. What I’ve loved about it is how much it takes the fear and trepidation out of the disease process.

Once you understand that disease is a process, it means that every symptom you experience has a start (and end) point and that it’s the elegance of the brain’s messaging service to the body. And by-jingo it works!

Chronic StressSpiral Staircase

Is your life more like an upward spiralling or a downward spiralling staircase?

If you feel it’s downward spiralling then you’re in the right place, because believe it or not, your current situation is not your fault and one of the first things I want to say is but it really is okay to stop beating yourself up.

Mood Swings

Perhaps you’ve been dealing with mood swings, stress, anxiety or depression and in additon you may have developed poor coping strategies such as addictive behaviours, like turning to food, alcohol and other unwanted self-destructive acts that give a welcome release at the time, but leave you feeling worse.   And maybe some of these aspects are impacting your personal relationships with partners, friends or family adding unwanted strain and fatigue.

The Comfort Zone

As time marches on the pattern becomes more ingrained, with that comes familiarity and for some of you it may be getting harder to imagine life any other way.  But I’m here to say it can be, and because I’ve been there with my own issues, I’ll show you how.

As a META-Medicine Practitioner (and trainer in a variety of techniques), I want to share what I’ve learned and let you in on what’s been happening to you in the biological sense within your mind, your body and however else you’re feeling the effects.

This includes anything impacting your physical health, any poor habits, challenges in relationships, couch-potato days, procrastination, sabotage, you name it.

I also want you to know that it’s okay, you’re not going mad and the best news of all is that whatever is plaguing you is-by-nature reversible.

These Techniques Work

I know it’s possible that you have tried a trillion and one ways without much success or sense of difference, but the raft of techniques used here, especially META-Medicine and EFT are right out there at the forefront of this field, they just aren’t free yet, so if like me you live in a country where healthcare is considered to be a free service, you aren’t able to ask for these yet.

That said, if you want to be free of your symptoms so you can get back or for some of you even start a brand new chapter of a normal life whatever that might be for you, then you needn’t go any further, because these tools are renowned for helping with just these issues.

Because they are personalized to your unique requirements, it means you can unravel the woollen-ball of how it all started, so you can both recognise the triggers and stop them once and for all. On this path lies the freedom to become you again, which allows the most efficient route back to wellness.

You Do The Work

Once adopted you have an opportunity to become your own expert able to use them whenever the need arises because in-life there is always something to deal with – isn’t that how we know we’re alive?

However this will turn into every-day stuff rather than the insurmountable challenges you’re faced with at the moment.

Your Solutions

These tools aren’t a magic potion, a one-size-fits-all and voila all your problems are solved in-one-go.  But they are quite magical in providing remarkable results in far less time than was previously thought possible.  I want to share them with you and I’d love to know what you think, so please get involved and comment as it would be great to hear your views.

I know the information you’ll find here may fly-in-the-face of what we’ve learned in the past.  All I can tell you is that from personal experience and working with others, the results can be phenomenal.

But in case you’re still unsure, you can find out what others have said about the difference its made for them.

It might be hard to discover there ARE solutions when you think you’ve heard it all before.  But if you’re willing to stick around this is where the rubber really starts to hit the road :)

From studies made over the last 10-15-yrs its believed that almost every major illness that people acquire is due to Chronic Stress.  This is according to studies done by McEwen and Seeman (1999), McEwen and Lasky (2002), Segerstrom and Miller (2004), Kopp and Rethelyi (2004).

META Medicine (MM) tells us there are 2-phases to disease which consist of a stress phase (sympathetic) and a healing phase (parasympathetic) but these had not been linked until quite recently.  This provides the key to learning what’s stopping you from living a disease-free life.

The Two Phases Of Disease

Based on the three embryological germ layers MM shows how inter-connected the brain and body are.  When something unexpected and dramatic happens where you feel isolated and unsure how to cope, it can have an affect on the body, mind, social, spiritual and/or environmental aspects with far-reaching consequences.  By discovering the catalyst and following the advice given your body can become re-energised and healthy again.

The 2-phases of disease are broken into 9-stages:

  1. Good health
  2. Something happens that MM calls a UDIN
  3. Stress phase (interrupted sleep and eating patterns with cold extremities)
  4. The reversal point is when something happens to relieve the UDIN
  5. Part A of the healing phase is when the symptoms become evident (as in a cold) (the body is warm and wants to sleep more)
  6. Thehealing crisis (HC) when the set of symptoms are at their height and in serious diseases this is the dangerous stage, for example is when a heart attack would occur
  7. Part B of the healing phase is when the body is coming out of the HC and experiencing milder symptoms (the worst is over)
  8. Convalescence (the appetite for wholesome food returns)
  9. Normal service is resumed

But instead of completing the 9-steps we often find a condition stays in the body’s system because it gets triggered again by another (similar or an entirely different) UDIN (the latter indicates there is more than one UDIN impacting) and so keeps the condition running round in a loop.  This will be diagnosed as a chronic condition.

Perhaps you’ve experienced this yourself or are close to someone who has?
